Amethyst Network Training
Internal training within an international Amethyst group, meetings and discussions with colleagues from other countries – the ongoing program of exchange of professionals from various network centers.
The Amethyst Radiotherapy Network concept has transnational character. Regardless of where you are operating, the same medical procedures are implemented, and top-class equipment is installed, doctors and medical personnel undergo the same training. Of equal importance is the exchange of knowledge within the network, and internships within the group have also been introduced - doctors, physicists and technicians travel to foreign Amethyst centers to learn from their colleagues and share their own experiences. In this way they have contact not only with the latest achievements in radiotherapy, but also with solutions that have been tested in twin medical centers.
This year, two Polish-Romanian exchanges were organized, involving six specialists. In March, two technicians, one physician and one radiation oncologist came from Bucharest to the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Cracow. Three months later, two people from the Polish center (technicians) went to Romania for a similar internship. Two more Romanian-Polish-Italian exchanges are scheduled shortly : two doctors from Rome were present in Cracow from 10 to 14 July, two more will travel soon to the radiotherapy center in Romanian Cluj-Napoca.
